Assistant Activation

You can activate the Assistant in a few quick steps. Once it’s set up, your Assistant will help you decide which calls to take. The exact onboarding flow may vary slightly depending on your country, carrier, and app version.

Before you start

Make sure you have:

  • A carrier that supports the Assistant. (You can find this list here)

  • The latest version of the Truecaller app

  • A stable mobile or Wi-Fi connection

Set up your Assistant

  1. Open the Assistant in Truecaller
Open the Truecaller app and go to the Assistant tab.

  2. Select your carrier
Choose your mobile carrier from the list. If your carrier does not support Assistant, you’ll see a note at the bottom of the page.

  3. Choose your Assistant’s voice
You’ll see a list of available voices. Tap each voice to preview how it sounds, then select the one you want your Assistant to use when speaking to callers.

  4. Allow microphone and notification access
When prompted, allow Microphone and Notifications. This lets your Assistant hear callers.

  5. Activate call forwarding
Tap Activate to start the call-forwarding setup. This will place a short call to a dedicated Truecaller number used to forward your incoming calls to the Assistant. When receiving a call from this number, click the decline button.

  6. Confirmation
When call forwarding is successful, you’ll see a confirmation message that your Assistant is ready. From now on, the calls you choose to send to the Assistant will be answered on your behalf.

If setup doesn’t work

If activation fails or you don’t see a confirmation:

  • Check your mobile signal or try again on a stronger connection

  • Make sure your SIM and carrier support call forwarding

  • Restart the Truecaller app and repeat the steps
