Truecaller creates a unique top spam list for each and every user based on which country and region you reside in and picks the absolute top spammers in that list to block.
Calls with a lower spam score, or from another region/country that are NOT in your unique top spam list may NOT be blocked. We do the best by warning you in those cases.
Example of low and high spam score:
- Low spam score = 50-300
- High spam score = 1000-20000
What are the different spam protection levels in Truecaller?
OFF – Spam callers will be identified but not blocked.
BASIC – Blocks all top spammers. (Automatically rejects calls from thousands of known spammers.)
MAX – Provides the maximum protection by blocking calls from all known spammers, but it may also block some legitimate businesses.
Do I need Premium for maximum spam protection?
Yes, enabling the MAX protection level requires a Premium plan.
