Truecaller's 'Block Callers by name' feature empowers you to take control of your incoming calls by allowing you to block calls from callers who names containing specific work.
For this feature to work, Truecaller needs to identify the caller and check if any part of their name is on your list of blocked words. This requires an active Internet connection at the time of the call.
This feature blocks calls if the caller's name shows the exact word or phrase you put on your block list. It looks for your blocked word as a separate word or a clear part of the name. So, if you block "Invest", it will block names like "Invest Now" or "Call from Invest". However, it would not block names like "Investment Group" because "Invest" is part of the longer word "Investment".

Using the feature
How do I block a caller by name?
Open Truecaller and go to the "Block" section.
Tap on "Block caller name".
Enter the keyword or phrase you want to block.
Tap "Block" to confirm.
How does this work?
Example 1: If you add the keyword "Invest" to your block list, an incoming call where the caller ID contains "Invest" as a part of a whole word, such as "Invest Today", "Smart Invest Plan", will be blocked. "Investment Bank" and "ReInvest in Gold" would not be blocked because "Invest" appears within a larger word.
Example 2: If you add the keyword "Loan" to your block list, a call with the caller ID "Personal Loan Offers", "Easy Loan at Doorstep", or "Get a Loan Now" would be blocked. Calls from "LoanApproval" would not be blocked.
What happens when a caller whose name contains a blocked keyword or phrase calls me?
The behaviour depends on your call rejection settings:
Reject calls automatically: The call will be automatically blocked, and you will receive a blocked notification of the call.
Ring silently: The call will silently ring.
How do I see the list of keywords or phrases I have blocked?
Go to the "Block" section in Truecaller. You will find a "My block list" where you can review and manage all blocked names.
How do I unblock a word?
Go to the "Block" section and tap on "My block list".
Find the name you want to unblock.
Tap on the name and select "Unblock".
