What is the 'Contact Request'?

Contact Requests enable you to ask specific individuals for their phone numbers and other contact information. The sharing of these details will occur only once the recipient has approved your request. This feature is available only on the Android, 13.48 version onwards.

  1. Who can send Contact Requests? 

All Android platform Premium users who have access to this feature and are on the version mentioned above can send contact requests.

  1. Who can receive Contact Requests? 

All Truecaller Android users can receive contact requests.

  1. How can I send Contact Requests? 

If you're a premium user with access to this feature, you have the option to request the contact information of your selected individual. You can do this by choosing the "Ask for Contact Details" option on their contact details page, as long as you are using the version mentioned above.

  1. How will I come to know that somebody is trying to reach out to me? 

You will receive a notification once somebody sends you a contact request. Also, you can see new requests in the “Profile” -> “Contact Requests” -> “Pending” tab or from the Premium screen “Contact Requests” inner screen. 

  1. How will I come to know that somebody has approved/declined the contact request sent by me? 

You will receive a notification once somebody accepts/declines your contact request. Also, you can view updates on requests sent by you in the “Profile” -> “Contact Requests” -> “Updates” tab or from the Premium screen “Contact Requests” inner screen. 

  1. How can I accept/decline a contact request?

You can accept/decline a request from the “Profile” -> “Contact Requests” -> “Pending” tab or from the Premium screen “Contact Requests” inner screen. 

  1. Where can I see the history of contact requests sent to/by me?

All users can see the history of contact requests sent to/by them in “Profile” -> “Contact Requests” -> “Updates” tab or from the Premium screen “Contact Requests”  inner screen. 

  1. Can I send contact requests to iOS platform users?

At this moment, cross-platform requests are not supported.

  1. Is there any restriction on how many contact requests can be sent?

No, you can send unlimited contact requests provided you are a premium user, have access to this feature, and are on the version mentioned above.

  1. Why I am not able to send contact requests? 

Due to one of the following reasons:

  • Attempting to send a contact request to an iOS user

  • Using an older version

  • A system-related issue


  1. I am on an outdated version. What actions I can still take?   

You can still see and accept/decline any old or new requests from  “Profile” -> “Notifications”. However, you won't be able to send new requests until you upgrade to the latest version.
