1. What is a Social Graph?
A social graph is a visual map of relationships between callers, built by analyzing call activity over time. It helps identify how phone numbers may be connected—without using your phonebook.
2. How does this benefit me?
The goal is to help you make smarter decisions about answering calls.
By looking at mutual connections and how often others pick up calls from a certain number, Truecaller can suggest whether an unknown call might be from someone you know—or someone you should avoid.
3. Does Truecaller use my contacts or phonebook to build this graph?
No. Your phonebook data is not used or uploaded. The social graph is built using anonymized call patterns—specifically incoming and outgoing calls—from the Truecaller network.
4. Can I opt out of this?
Yes. As a registered user, you can opt out anytime.
- How to opt out:
- Open the Truecaller app
- Go to Settings > Privacy Center
- Turn off the toggle: "Allow Truecaller to analyze your call patterns to improve spam detection and provide additional information on incoming calls"
5. I'm in the EU and using an older version of the app. How can I opt out?
If you're using version 13.43.5 or below, either:
Update the app and opt out via the Privacy Center, or Contact our support team for assistance.
